This morning I went on the 2004 Orange Great Melbourne Bike Ride. The full ride was supposed to be 45km but as Damien had to be somewhere by 1pm (and we were running over 2 hours later than planned) we decided to skip the section around Albert Park lake.

After Damien left the finish at Lygon Street to ride back to his car I rode down Grattan St and Flemington Rd to the Moonee Ponds Creek path in order to complete the final section down to the Docklands that we skipped a few weeks ago…

Work this afternoon was interrupted by the arrival of new desks. I now have a huge expanse of light grey melamine instead of the sweat (other peoples) engrained wood veneer desk with drawers that I didn’t use…

It looks like the need to have a software developement process at work is finally being addressed. The good thing is that I am going to be a part of working out what we need. The first stage will be reviewing how we can scale down Thomsett for our small (one to four week) projects…

One thing that I am really concerned about is that there is a large project that has just started and we are already supposed to be creating screenshots and working out the backend database without any apparent problem definition or requirements analysis…

I finally made it to my first Melbourne Perl Mongers meeting tonight and got to listen to the first installment of the perl security course that Paul is beta testing…

On Saturday I got my new phone, a Sony Ericsson T610, and today I got a DVD burner, a Pioneer DVR-107D.

Now to find the time to properly use them…
